Why does everyone want Sam and Dean to stop hunting? Seriously, I think... like, the last five Wincest fics I read (because the only Gen I really read is pre-series) have Sam and Dean settling down and quitting hunting.

What is the appeal of that? Am I the only one in fandom who really likes the idea of them moving around constantly and saving people's lives? Sometimes it really does feel like that.

Not everyone needs a stable house and/or 9-5 job to be happy. Otherwise we'd have no flight attendants or cops or FBI agents or anything like that.

I really don't think Dean would be able to do it. Since he was four he's spent his entire life moving around constantly and he's been happy with that. I've moved around like that (but with varying times, a few months, a few days, a few weeks, and once or twice staying for almost/around a year) and I gotta say: I get physically sick when I'm stuck in one place for too long, I get nervous and twitchy. Dean would be fucking miserable in a solitary location. Yeah, he loves Sam but he would hate it there.

And Sam? He's been moving since he was born. Yeah he craves stability and safety but that doesn't mean he can handle it. I crave stability and safety too and as I already mentioned I get restless when I'm in one place for too long. I totally see Sam taking off every few weeks while at Stanford. Just grabbing his bag after class on Friday and going in a different direction each time, coming back just in time for class on Monday and probably in a lot better mood than he was in when he left.

Huh. Hadn't actually planned on writing anything more than that first line up there. I guess my next rant will have to be on permanent!genderswap fic and why I hate it so much (and no, it's not because of the het).

WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH THE PBFE?

It was supposed to be done a while ago and this is bull. According to the last post at pbficexchange there were still fics waiting to be posted and there has been no word of anything since.

This was on June 20th, almost a month ago. She also hasn't updated her personal journal in thirteen weeks so that'll probably be no help at all with contacting her.

I'm really not trying to come off as a bitch because for all I know (God forbid) something happened to almostforgiven. But if it didn't? If she's fine and everyone is fine and she just got tired of LJ or PB or the PBFE or something? Then I am pissed.

You know what I want? For everyone to step up to the comm and tell what they wrote. And those people who haven't had their stories put up yet? Maybe post them on your own? I honestly feel that if we don't finish this ourselves it just ain't gonna get done.

Seriously man, what's the consensus here? Do we want to try and finish this on our own or does nobody care anymore?

How the fuck did PB beat SPN for first 'cest wank?

I gotta say, I was looking through this earlier actually and the only thing that kept me from going all bitch-tastic down there is the knowledge that thelana can find a way to kick my ass over the internet. I must say that I really don't like how one-sided that "argument" is and I know for a fact that a large reason why thelana seemed to be the only one for the 'cest links is because the rest of us knew she wouldn't want is to jump in, which is understandable because then angel_1013 would've probably complained about all of us "ganging up on her."

On that note? I am totally pissed that everyone and their mother is calling thelana names and shit because you know what? It's juvenile and uncalled for and really shows just who the true asshats are.

And? Speaking as one of those authors who never got her stuff linked there? It really does make you feel like shit. Out of all my PB fic only two ever actually had anything 'cesty about them. Out of all my fics, most of which are/were Gen the only one that ever got linked in the newsletter was Five People Sara Didn't Have Wild, Hot, Monkey Sex With. That's it. It really is the kind of thing that can make a new writer not want to write anymore.

I honestly don't see what's so unreasonable about wanting all parts of the fandom represented. I get that some people don't like incest fic, that's understandable. I personally don't like het. I know that's not in the same range so let me put it a different way: I have a strong dislike, some might say it's a disgust, for most T-Bag fics. It's nothing personal, I just don't have the stomach for the amount of brutal rape and pedophilia that comes along with T-Bag and his fics. One could argue very realistically that a newsletter, and the person making it, could get in much more trouble over a fic involving one person raping and murdering an underage child (Yes, LJ counts too) than they could over two consenting adults who are related having sex.

Flowers in the Attic anyone? Hi. Pretty sure V.C. Andrews didn't go to jail over that.
