DUDE!

I got plagiarized!

Reported by [livejournal.com profile] thelana here and told to me by Julia in chat.

I cannot fucking wait to tell my English teacher. XD

ETA: TWICE!

Heeee, congrats.

I didn't really want to say much before stop_plagiarism finished their report (hoping that they would have a list of all the stories/authors who were plagiarized; considering how fast the person deleted the evidence/her journal).

I still don't get how anybody could plagiarize certain stories. I mean, how would they even make sense in another fandom?

She even stole your Lincoln 50 sentences:

http://community.livejournal.com/jrockyaoi/1535215.html#cutid1

I have a save of her journal main site, a bunch of the stories and of one post where she posted links to all the stories she had on the jrock community.

trying to repost it here

Summary: Kaoru had always been so timid and withdrawn, so lonely and scared–even before his mother’s death. He had always worshipped Die though, and clung to his older cousin as if his life depended on it–maybe it did. When he had moved into their home, because Die and his family was the only relative that could bother with him, Kaoru had had such sadness in his eyes that made Die's heart twist into a painful knot. Kaoru's constant need for approval, his quirks that no one understood, soon began to take it's toll on Die's family (but never on him), it was always the same but with variations on a theme "Kaoru Niikura was too much hard work". And so when Die's own parents became casualties in a tragic car accident, despite the sick feeling of hurt, Die did the only thing he could do. He applied to be Kaoru's guardian. Because Kaoru still clung to Die like a life preserver and Die couldn't leave him. He didn't even want to.

A New Beginning. [Sunday,
September 17th, 2006]
I'm going to be posting ALL of my old Die/Kaoru fanfics here tonight,
so I apologize in advance for the massive spam that will surely ensue on your friends-page.

I'm not going to post the Live It Out series yet though...because there's fricking 13 chapters so far and I've been thinking about cramming everything into 1 chapter for everyone's sanity or I could just post all the chapters in one go? thoughts about this would be great since it doesn't really make any difference for me either way.

Holy crap, man. That's kinda of awesome.

I really am in awe of that chick's stupidity though. Damn.

[identity profile] thelana.livejournal.com 2006-11-21 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Well it seems she did get away for it for a long time though. Grrrr. Annoys me to no end.

So much for people being trusting and welcome to new authors even if they have flaws (like, you know, crapshot characterization that makes no sense for the fandom).

[identity profile] clex_monkie89.livejournal.com 2006-11-21 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
So there really is a reason to hate bad characterization? YAY!

I must admit, the comments the stupid theif got piss me off because really, she didn't do jack shit.

[identity profile] slytherinblack.livejournal.com 2006-11-21 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I was pissed on your behalf reading those comments. Heh.

I'm one of the mods for snslashnotebook, right, and once someone posted a plagairized fic on there. The kicker? It was one of the other mod's fics. [headdesk] I mean, duh, people.

[identity profile] frayen.livejournal.com 2006-11-21 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm and I wonder who that could have been.

People are stoopid

THe kicker of the kicker to that is, I was going through all the posts to tag everything, and a few poss before mine on the same day was one from the plagerist asking a question about the very dialog I based my fic on.

Oh I laughed.

[identity profile] slytherinblack.livejournal.com 2006-11-21 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
lmao.

That particular event is going to be my "plagairists are fucking morons" story forever and ever. It's nice when they make it that easy, though. ;P

[identity profile] mooyoo.livejournal.com 2006-11-21 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
That was the one where she didn't even bother to change all of the character names, right? That was really the best part of the whole thing.

[identity profile] clex_monkie89.livejournal.com 2006-11-22 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
Oh God I remember that. That was retarded funny. I mean, that just takes inbred stupidity to a whole new level,

[identity profile] mooyoo.livejournal.com 2006-11-21 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Jeez, what the hell man? Seems like everyone's being plagiarized lately. I just never get the idea of being praised for someone else's work, how does that make you happy? Not like you did anything except change the character names, so what's there to be proud of when someone tells you how good the story is?

[identity profile] thelana.livejournal.com 2006-11-21 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Man, I can't believe that she ripped off your little kidbrother gen ficlets. (here)

TF?

Especially since the two characters in her fandom aren't even related. The people over there must have thought that she has a major incest kink if she keeps making the charactes brothers or cousins when they aren't in canon.

[identity profile] mooyoo.livejournal.com 2006-11-21 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
No way! Aww, and here I was feeling left out of all the plagiarism :p I'm reading one of my kid!fic drabbles that she renamed "Toy Soldiers" - didn't even recognize it at first until I thought "huh, that sounds like something I'd write... oh, hey!" Damn, seems like she really raided the fandom. It always strikes me as odd when fics are plagiarized and changed for a fandom so completely different. Wonder what made her take PB stories (and why like, every M/L fic in the fandom?).

And randomly, something I find really strange? She stole my story "Notes" and changed the name to the title from one of my other stories, "More Than It Seems". How totally odd.

How did you find this out? Did you catch them, or did someone else point it out? I'm always curious how this stuff is caught, especially when the fandoms are so different from each other.

[identity profile] thelana.livejournal.com 2006-11-22 06:50 am (UTC)(link)
How did you find this out? Did you catch them, or did someone else point it out? I'm always curious how this stuff is caught, especially when the fandoms are so different from each other.

I didn't.

Apparently somebody found out that project_avoid who posted as pbslash was a plagiarist and confronted her. So she deleted the project_avoid journal. People on pbslash didn't know and asked what happened to her. Some anon told callmetofu that project_avoid was a plagiarist and that she had ripped off one of callme's stories as bluesemicolon.

callme made a post about it in her journal. I clicked on the the bluesemicolon name and saw that I knew pretty much all the stories. So I notified stop_plagiarism again.

[identity profile] clex_monkie89.livejournal.com 2006-11-22 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
I know, I mean how good can you feel from getting fake praise?

[identity profile] halfshellvenus.livejournal.com 2006-11-21 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
She/He even used the same TITLE. *thwap* No-good-stealing-dumbass!

Thank goodness for [livejournal.com profile] thelana's sharp eyes. She's caught another one! :D

[identity profile] mooyoo.livejournal.com 2006-11-22 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Have you read through her whole repertoire? I think she took one or two of yours as well. Seems like like lifted something from just about every M/L author in the fandom *boggles*

[identity profile] halfshellvenus.livejournal.com 2006-11-22 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Gah! I missed the theft of "Impaired Judgment," although I found "Echoes Of Something Lost."

The "Awakening" one isn't mine-- domfangirl/american_outlaw has a series with the same title, so it's probably hers.

*stabbity stabbity stabbity* :(

[identity profile] mooyoo.livejournal.com 2006-11-22 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
There's a ton of really random stuff, and it seems like her one long series is a bunch of various stolen works put together. Some also have had the names changed.

(I have to admit that, oddly enough, I was only really upset when I thought that she'd actually stolen my fic "More Than It Seems," until I saw that she only used the title for another work of mine - I'd be much more upset about this if she took something of mine that I really care about (not that I don't care about the ones she did plagiarize, just not nearly as much as some of my others). As if is, I'm still just mostly amused).

[identity profile] thelana.livejournal.com 2006-11-22 06:51 am (UTC)(link)
I think I ran across Twist/Stung as well.

[identity profile] halfshellvenus.livejournal.com 2006-11-22 07:43 am (UTC)(link)
I saw them listed as a journal entry for her deleted journal (I used the ljseek.com tool), but the entry was deleted along with her journal.

And the notes about "Coming up with these other pieces while she waited for the muse to cooperate." I.e., the ripped-off author to post another chapter. :0 *sporks her*

[identity profile] thelana.livejournal.com 2006-11-22 07:47 am (UTC)(link)
Wordy-word.

[identity profile] thelana.livejournal.com 2006-11-22 07:49 am (UTC)(link)
Kinda reminds me when mylifewithin complained and ranted in her journal that I gave her a less than glowing review to pussyfic. (actually I was nice. My review was more like "Are you sure this wasn't orignally a hetfic?")

She got all flustered and linked the comment and encouraged potential readers to get upset at it.

Argh!!!!

[identity profile] clex_monkie89.livejournal.com 2006-11-22 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Oh my God it's so stupid, right?

Also? My English teacher thought it was funny.

[identity profile] immoralilly.livejournal.com 2006-11-21 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Well... at least she likes your writing.

But seriously, plagiarists are just beyond dumb. They always get caught. *shakes fist at plagiarist*

[identity profile] clex_monkie89.livejournal.com 2006-11-22 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
I know, huh?

It's kinda funny, plagiarists are like those idiots who rob banks and then leave their wallets at the scene.

[identity profile] kantayra.livejournal.com 2006-11-22 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
BWAH! I love retarded plagiarists! Your fics didn't even make sense the way she did them. *sporfles all over the place*

[identity profile] clex_monkie89.livejournal.com 2006-11-22 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
I know! I almost felt kinda sad reading them because they seemed so ESL after she "finished" thm.

Greetings. I'm one of the mods from [livejournal.com profile] stop_plagiarism. I'm sorry that you were effected by [livejournal.com profile] project_avoid/[livejournal.com profile] bluesemicolon. I'm in the process of trying to put together a comprehensive list of who was effected as well as trying to find the original fics for what are most likely plagiarized fic. If you could got to this post (http://community.livejournal.com/stop_plagiarism/21329.html), review it and leave me titles and links to your work, as well as see if there is anything that was converted by [livejournal.com profile] bluesemicolon into the Karou/Die setting that you recognized as a Prison Break fic, that would be deeply appreciated.

Also, if you happen to have contact information for [livejournal.com profile] project_avoid/[livejournal.com profile] bluesemicolon, I would love it if you could email it to me at spiralled at yahoo dot com.

Thank you for your help with this matter.
