I LIVE

But my work is trying to kill me. Have an example of the type of stuff I am learning (this is me dumbing it down for my notes);
Effective CPM (eCPM): A method of figuring out a CPC ad's effective cost-per-thousand impressions. This is found by a complex system that compares bids, CTR, and other relevant factors on the CPC ad. If the estimated eCPM is higher than the other user's actual CPM bid, the CPC bid will win the auction.

I keep meaning to make a post that is at least somewhat substantial, but I am fucking exhausted by the time I get home because I spend all day using my brain to decipher things.

Ugh, that eCPM stuff made my eyes cross just reading it.

HEE. It's kinda brain damaging, isn't it?

What do you do for a living?

(I totally could've typed that into the box above...)

While I technically work in a call center, I'm in advertising for Google. I help people set up and design their Google AdWords campaigns (the ads on the sides and top of Google searches, among other places). The above actually refers to the formula used to decide which ad gets what spot on what page of the search if there are multiple types of ads (referring to how they pay) are in competition.
