Update Bullety-style

  • You know those people who think it's funny to tell telemarketers to go jump off of buildings or kill themselves or something of the like? They're all douchebags. Yeah, if you're on my FList and you do that I think you're a douchebag too. I'm a telemarketer, man. We don't just wake up one day and decide we're gonna call John Smith because we want to ruin his whole day with a call he can easily hang up on in two fucking seconds.

It's called a job, guys. Not everyone can be a receptionist or art designer or fucking mechanic. Some of us have no experience and live places where the job market is shit and all we can do is get on the phone and try to sell shit.

  • Lots of people have icons of The Comedian (JDM's character in Watchmen) now. Some with, what I think is, rather... Odd text on them considering the character. It kinda really makes me wonder how many of the people have actually readi the comic or at least a Wiki entry about his character or something.

  • I spent four fucking hours trying on clothes yesterday. My knee still hurts.

  • I totally got a $632 check from work yesterday--for one week.

  • I now have $202.41 left.

  • I have $125 in bonus for next weeks check already. Which means my check will be at least $447.

  • I have 43 comments on Postcards (From Easy Street) that I need to answer. And, yes, I have to state that just so I have an excuse to link.

  • I have a truly fucking retarded about of fic sitting open in tabs. I will be reading some/most/all of it soon, hopefully.

  • I have only two more eps of SGA until I'm all caught up with the rest of the fans.

  • I'm taking Ma and CJ out to dinner tonight because I have money and I can.

  • I have about four pages of DID!Sam longhand on legal paper sitting next to me. I like legal paper more than I remember. I think I shall be buying some.

  • I need to make another Fic To-Do list, this time ranked by the order in which I should do them.

  • I'm totally about to start trying to figure out what I want my layout to look like next. I know the colors I want, I just have to find the hexes for them (it's totally the blues and purples and black off the Joker shirt I have on now).

  • I'm hungry, so I'm probably gonna go make some cereal now.

I fully and completely support all of that rant about people who tell telemarketers off. Seven months in hell, dude, and the number of times I was asked why I don't go out and get a REAL job never ceased to piss me off. (That's funny, my paycheck spent like real money ...)

Of course, on the other hand, the people who really tore into me got scheduled for callbacks on Saturdays at nine in the morning, but that was probably just a computer glitch. *cough*

I don't know about you, but I bent over backwards for people who were actually nice to me. I put a lot of little old ladies and people who were probably on pot at the time on the Do Not Call list without even being told to by them.

Oh, man, if you're nice to a telemarketer you'll totally notice a sharp decline in calls from them. The asshole may accidentally get dispositioned as "Answering Machine" so that they're called every hour until they say the magic words or someone takes pity on them.

Also, the ones who piss me off make me get picky, seeing as how we aren't required to mark anyone DNC unless they specifically say, "put me on your Do Not Call list." So the idiots who call me names and then say to "stop calling here" tend to get dispositioned as "Call back later repeatedly."

It's those darn computer systems, man. The calls just disposition themselves, sometimes. Honest.

I was a telemarketer for 2 years, and then I spent a year doing surveys for an unnamed large company, and all I want to say is AMEN. I'm never rude to telemarketers, ever, unless they're the asshole types (you know what I'm talking about, rotf).

You say you have fic? Where. Where is good fic. I've read it all. There is none. Share.

Oh, dude, I totally know the asshole types. Those ones deserve it, they're the ones who need a peg to the face every once in a while.

I have fic... Almost kind of sort of close to being typed up?

Uhm. You should give me your MSN and also the email where you get GoogleDocs sent to, that way I can add you to a bunch of stuff and also make flaily noises at you about fic I should be writing.

[identity profile] fromyourashes.livejournal.com 2008-07-26 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL, but I don't use "GoogleDocs". Am I supposed to know what that is, because if so, I'm made of all things fail, so...sorry? *grins* And my MSN is jelloh05301977@hotmail.com, but I'm getting off for a few hours...

...I mean, not. Not THAT. I'm getting away from the computer LMAO.

You should not be on MSN, lmao, if you're supposed to write. I'll only enable you to not write, and instead talk about how pretty Sam and Dean are.

Dude, GoogleDocs is fucking AMAZING. You upload/paste fic into it and you can share it with people without having to, like, send it via email every time. And it's live, so I can edit the doc after sending you the link and you can see it after the changes without me having to send it again. ALSO! You can see me change it LIVE and if I click the option then you can change it too!

And, also, I totally write best when I'm on MSN. I'm one of those people who seems to need constant encouragement or I can't write hardly anything. I get V ADD.

As far as I know, telemarketing is against the law here in Germany. Luckily! There's still a few ... I don't know, either exceptions or those who do it anyways. But very few. And as much as I hate being called, I hate those who are unreasonably hostile more.
Like you said, it is not the fault of the person at the other end of the line. Grr.

*hugs*
