Fuck you, iTunes.

Okay, so, against my better judgment I went ahead and allowed iTunes to update to the newest version. Now when I plug in my iPod it shows an electrical outlet and a charger on the iPod screen. Problem is that the only way I have of charging my iPod is through the synch cord and my laptop. And now it's not doing that.

Help?

I'd say to uninstall and reinstall. That's what I had to do last time I updated iTunes.

Oooh, that happened to me once. I had to reinstall/unistall iTunes and the iPod updater. If that doesn't work, try resetting it maybe?

Hope you have backups of everything.

When I was still using Windows, rebooting the iPod - pressing the upper and middle button until it showed the apple logo -(when it's not connected to the computer) cured all sorts of bugs. Still does, occasionally. It's the simplest of options, though, soyou probably already tried that, huh? =(

Never let iTunes update and even more important never let it update the iPod software. *shudders* (iTunes will force you to update from time to time, at least if you still want to be able to buy music, but steadfastly refuse to update the iPod. I did that once and it froze in the middle of a screen and refused to come unfrozen even after the battery ran out. Grrr.)

I would go back to the original setup that's the only thing that seems to work with mine. *g*
