For underage drinking and then lies to a cop and says she's Taylor Cole (Sarah from Provenance, a real life friend of hers) and gives Taylor's birthdate.

I've never liked her and this doesn't really change anything. She's lucky as hell that she can't math when drunk though because if she had been giving any kind of fine or citation with Taylor's name attached to it she would've been fucked.

I don't care that she was drinking underage. Even I've done that and I don't drink. I don't even care that she gave Taylor's name, I mean, yeah, it was kinda suckass but she wasn't giving it to get Taylor into trouble so no malicious intent there. What I care about is her and her mother trying to get her off because she's a "high profile actress." Bitch, please. There are people who watch this show religiously and have no fucking idea who you are.

And yes, I hate Brittney and Lindsay and Nicole and Paris all too because they're, IMO, dumb little ditzes who get off easy because they're famous. If you drive drunk you should do more than a half an hour in jail. Period.

Also? I disliked Katie before I found out she had anything to do with Supernatural. I had the bad misfortune of watching her on some reality thing before (Bubblegum Babylon, maybe?) and have not been able to stand her since then. Oddly enough I like Ruby. I must admit, I'm glad in a weird way that I still hate Katie, because it means I actually am capable of separating people from their roles.

When I saw the article, I had to look under the cut to find out who it was cos I didn't recognise her.

I know. I didn't mention anything about her driving. I just mentioned Lindsay and the other idiots to explain that I'm not getting my hate on just because she's a girl on Supernatural.

I just rolled my eyes when I saw it. Because, dude. Teenage stupidity, whatever. It looks to me like her mother was the one who made up that "high-profile actress" thing. Katie just said she lied because she was scared that it would hurt her career. Which I think is legit, especially if she was drunk at the time.

Which is why I'm not really bothered that she gave her friend's name. Yeah, it was stupid but mostly because it could've given her much worse legal troubles if she had gotten a fine or something with Taylor's name attached.

And yeah, her mother just sounds... I'd compare her to Lohan's mom but I actually don't know much about Lohan's mother so that would be unfair. I do think Katie's at least partially at fault here and I think part of that is because of that whole "she's young and doesn't know better" thing. I'm only a year older than her and, man, she should know better. If you wanna drink then fine, go ahead, but be prepared to own up for it.

I think the part I like best is that when called on it she stopped digging and fessed up. It at least shows that she realized what she did wrong and didn't try to cover it up more.

Her mom's... something else, but meh. Parents are parents. Can't do much about 'em.

I admit, I do like that didn't try to insist on the lie ("These aren't my pants!") but I'm irked about her trying to get off for being an actress.

Though, really, come to think of it I think I'm less irked that she used it and more irked that she thought she could use it. Being a celebrity really is a get out of jail free card lately and that bothers me a lot.

Well, hopefully being slapped down like that will knock some sense into her head about trying to use the "I'm an actress" excuse.

Wow... I don't really care much about her or whatever trouble she might get into, but man, she is dumb. Telling the cops you're 21 and then saying you were born in 1981? Giving the name of another actress to get out of it? Dumb.(Then again, she was drunk at the time, and it's not as easy to do math when you're drunk)

But yeah, her mother saying that she can't be bothered with this because she's oh so busy? Screw you. I can't really hate on Katie Cassidy (unless she said something else that I missed), because yeah, people make dumb mistakes like that all the time, and she was only a few weeks from her 21st birthday, but her mother? I fucking hate that shit. Oh no! She has to do a guest stint on Supernatural! The world will just stop moving if she has to go to court! (and god knows I like SPN just as much as the next person, but since when does being a recurring guest star on a semi-low-rated CW show make one a high-profile actress?)

I had no idea she was David Cassidy's daughter! Is she the same one that tried to have a singer career a couple years back with a cover of "I Think I Love You[?]"

I still like Ruby and I know nothing of Katie aside what I've learned from today, so :shrug: Although drunk driving is serious and I hate when it's treated lightly both celebrities and citizens alike. But I realize now she wasn't driving.

Tucson, Arizona. Had to laugh at that. I swear it's where they are all caught, so I don't know why I was surprised. I suppose it's because I associate the celebrity DUIs of Tucson with the rehab center, and isn't she a bit young for that? What starlet comes to party in Southern Arizona?
