Okay. So.

Sam Winchester has an iPod. This is what I think. I think he saved up money and saved up money and Jess bought him one as a gift. I think this is the moment Sam fell in love with her because growing up with Dean for a brother I think giving music is the Winchester equivalencey of getting on your knees and blowing them.

But that's all just background crap.

What I want to know is what songs are on Sam's iPod.

What are his mixes called?

When does he listen to what songs?

Why?

I think that he has a handful of Metallica songs and Hair Band songs not necessarily because he likes them but because they remind him of Dean and Dad. And I think that he listens to Alice And Chains "Rooster" a lot because it makes him think of John.

He's gotta have the required Emo songs/bands, although the only ones I have knowledge of are My Chemical Romance, Deathcab For Cutie and... Saves the Day? I think that's their name.

I think he has I'm Not Okay (I Promise) and When Soul Meets Body and At Your Funeral. Mainly because those are a few of the songs I could think of and they fit Emo!Boy.

I ask mainly because I listen to Hard Rock and Classic Rock (Dean style) most and my brother listens to underground shit, rap and Emo so I don't really have a big knowledge of everything out there.

That and I'm incredibly curious.

P.S. Sam has Monster Mash and One Eyed, One Armed, Flying, Purple People Eater because they're cheesy as fuck and make him laugh.

One of the other things I was thinking is, I bet when he first got interested in music, Sam just went along with whatever his older brother was listening to, because that's what kids do, but then when he was maybe 14, 15, he would have started getting into his own stuff

Oh yes, you know he just agreed with Dean for years about music until maybe he turned on the radio one day (Because tapes have been going on forver with Dean) and heard something that he thought sounded cool and Dean switched off in horror.

I wonder if he has a playlist called something like "Blame Dean"? Becuase Sam totally has this snarky sense of humour that doesn't come out nearly enough, but I could see him doing things like that just to amuse himself.

I think it'd be something more like "Fuckhead's Fault" or something like that. Sammy's a snarky bastard and once I have his music down I'm totally shifting them into mixes and naming them.

I like that a lot, yeah. I think he's probably really obsessive about certain songs, every once and a while something will just click and he'll listen to it over and over and over until it's burned into his brain forever.

Oh you know he's got certain songs that he wont even let Dean mock. His sacred cows. And I think he sat Dean down one day and they made out their Sacred Cows (Because Sam's a geek like that) and Dean has trespassed a few times when he really wanted to piss Sam off.

I can hardly keep track of where I'm at with all this now, and I'm reeeeeeeeally starting to want to take some of this and write fic. Dean bitching when he first sees that Sam has an ipod, maybe Sam trying to make him listen to some songs because he can't not want to foist his music off on Dean, jsut like he used to.

But then one day Dean would be all cranky and confrontational for really no good reason and try to start fights about everything and Sam wouldn't bite because he knew what Dean was up to, until he made some snide remarks about 'Lithium' or some song being whiny and pointless and then Sam would crack.

Dude, music related fic is steadily climbing my list of stuff to write. God. My PB fics are going to suffer severly now. Stupid Sam and Dean eating my brain like zombies.
