Okay. I'm about to head home so I'm doing this before I leave.

I'm going to be reccing PB fics for crack_van eventually as you all may know.

I cannot be at all possible corners of the fandom and so this is where you come in. Find me fics you love, fics that stay with you, ones that won't leave your mind. Find them and link me to them.

OCD Threads are up and icon-coated for your reccing pleasure, rec in the appropriate places please. Pairing and rating are groovy and remember that this doesn't just cover all of LJ, it's anywhere you find the fic.

Remember, it is usually bad taste to rec your own fic, that's what friends are for! Fuck it, who cares about "usually" anyway? There's a spot over here for you to Self-Pimp, come on, do it.

There's also a spot for vids and one for icons/icon makers. Why? Because.

Yeah, that's understandable - self-reccing in general in a comm like that seems kinda iffy.

Yeah, I'm thinking that sometime a while back someone probably signed up and then pimped themself and all their friends and that was it.

Yeah, and the way the characters just fit SO well with each different chess piece, not something I'd thought that much about before - awesome.

It's amazing because it's on of those things that you don't think about until it's pointed out and then it's like; Yeah. Why didn't I see that before?

I love Overwhelmed. I'm trying to write something involving the low latent inhibition right now, and I don't know if I could do it better than that. Wish she'd write more.

Dude, Ditto McWord on that entire paragraph. I'm trying my hand at it but... That's some big shoes to try and fill.

Yeah, and such a tough subject with not a ton of specific research, and I can't find anything that describes what exactly a person with low latent inhibition would experience, so I feel like I'm kind of guessing and making some of it up.

I can't find much about LLI either, it's sad when I can find more on Asperger's Syndrome then I can on something else.

I'm thinking the sensory overload is gonna become the main Fannon!LLI thing.

Yeah, and I have this distant fear that that's incorrect, but that seems to be the closest to what's described in the articles I've read, especially when they discuss the relationship between LLI and psychosis (which is pretty much what my fic's about).

But another element that I read that I found interesting is that not only does this condition make you more open to outside stimuli, but also that those with lower levels of latent inhibition were more likely to spend time thinking about how everything around them can be used, like in the process of taking something in and cateloging it a person will process all the different possible uses of it (which is probably part of where the creative aspect of LLI comes in). Thought that was interesting, that kind of not only is someone hit by a ton of images and objects and things around them, but they have to proces them all and consider everything about an object, including the ways in which it could be used.

See in my head I have Michael getting overwhelmed with everything sometimes and such. I also have him "barely noticing" his surroundings sometimes and then going into what for us is amazing detail about his surroundings.

And as for the interlocking bits of everything part I just... In my head I hear him reciting the way the major bones of the body connect from head to toe and other things like that when he starts to get panicy.
