Is this really what it's like in high school?

If so? God, I'm glad I stopped going after 6th.

From what I gather, wank in fandom is just a bunch of immature cunts who should learn to tear themselves away from the computer and learn what real human contact is. Wank in high school is over boyfriend stealing, social status, and what the prom theme should be.

But hell, the school I go to now is full of hippies, so I've probably forgotten everything about The High School Experience.

...That actually makes me feel a tiny bit better.

Usually I tend to stand back and watch wank with a detached kind of "huh" mindset, but in this one... People keep saying things like "everyone who has this person on their FList is insane" and other things like that. And that bugs me.

And I'm seriously hating right now that I'm too afraid to write things in my journal (I just erased like a whole paragraph I wanted to say) because I really don't wanna start at trouble. :(

Oh, good. After I posted the comment, I looked back and thought, "Oh, that sounds way too freaking sarcastic and oh shit."

Hey, that's understandable. Frustrating, I'm guessing, but understandable. (You can send over an email if you feel like ranting in a "safe environment." good lord, I've gone all high school counselor.)

Oh sweetie; nothing is ever too sarcastic.

Seriously, you wouldn't mind? Where should I send it to?

Send it on over to alazysod [at] gmail [dot] com. :)

As soon as class is over I'm gonna totally rant in your general direction. Thank you!

Not at my highschool. We generally just like to stick to our own cliques and don't really mess with anybody else. Unless you bring something up in the caf, in which case everyone will descend upon you like lions going in for the kill.

But that only happened once.

Just change schools!

Boo, I like my fandom school!

[identity profile] culturegeek76.livejournal.com 2007-02-01 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
When I read this I had two reactions: 1) Highschool sucked so bad. 2)God, I have no idea what wank in the fandom she is talking about.

That made me realize that wow, maybe fandom is like highshool... because I had no clue what was happening there either. (Mostly I was a "loser" who said/did what I wanted and only talked to my 5 friends and ignored everyone that I thought acted like an idiot and prayed for graduation.)

Then I was struck by a moment of paranoia where I thought "OMG, what if I'm the person that people are saying you have to be crazy to have on your flist!"

I think that whether its work/school/fandom, once there are enough people and a group of "popular kids" emerges - it has the potention to become like highschool. Sad but true.

That was totally me in junior high and stuff!

Also? That whole thing with popular people makes my stomach hurt. Because whether they're right or wrong doesn't even matter to me, it's the part where other people get lumped in they makes me all sad in the face.

Yeah, me too. *offers hugs*

Lumping should only be for mashed potatoes and creepy people. *Hug you*

Were you homeschooled?

I think I'd eat my son if he was home all day - though I have considered it.

[identity profile] clex_monkie89.livejournal.com 2007-02-01 03:03 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I was "homeschooled" for fourth and fifth (Read: Mom told the government she was schooling me and my brother but we sat around all day doing nothing) and then went to a month or two of sixth and then just stopped going. Mom and Dad were on the run from the cops and the easiest way to find someone is through their parents or where their kids go to school.

So me and my brother dropped out and then we went to a few months of ninth at this one school and exactly a week of it at another and then another two or three months a few years later (In a school with no grades).

Also? Eating you son would be bad; he's probably very stringy and he might bite back.

I'd love to know what your parents did, but it's not my business.

"I'm Mrs Clex-Monkie. I'm an Aquarius, I like sunsets and beaches. It was the shifter wot dunnit."

Sorry. Couldn't resist.

But, just WOW! You're really Sam Winchester, aren't you?!

Oh God, that's the best part! They were on probation and on the run from it. What they were on probation for? Running check scams and identity theft. It's so Winchester it hurts. You have no fucking clue how hard I laughed at the pilot when Sam mentioned the credit card scams and Dean checked into the motel.

But, just WOW! You're really Sam Winchester, aren't you?!

I tend to alternate between being Sam and being Dean depending on who I'm around. When I'm around my little brother? I'm totally Sam because he is Dean. He's the one who doesn't care WTF anyone else thinks, who plays the peace-maker between me and Mom, whose favorite color is pink because "who's gonna say somethin'?" and who can kick ass at pool and poker and just smiles at people and gets them to give him whatever he wants.

It's really kinda creepy. :D

I'm Sam

[identity profile] jadetate.livejournal.com 2007-02-02 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
You're totally Sam when J's around but you're definitly Dean when I'm around...who are you when J and I are both there? ^__^

The person trying to get the hell out of the room. :D

*scratches head*

I've got plenty of SPN people on my flist and this is the first I've heard of any more wank. Huh. *pets low-drama friends*

:)

Take it it popped up quite a bit on yours? *pets and offers cookies*

About five different places. It makes my head hurt. :(

My solution: abolish freedom of speech...

...not a good idea?? XP

Fine, fine, guess there is no solution, ah well!
