Really, my family has been poor pretty much my whole life, and even though we have a house now, we're working our way towards only being a month behind on all our bills. So, clearly, wish lists and presents have only very sporadically been a part of my life.

Yeah, that's kinda.....i dunno. I mean, everybody *wants* something, i get that, but it just rubs a little wrong. Bleh.

My growing up was very similar (we volleyed between poor to lower middle class) and there's never been a lot for extras.
