I'm going to attempt setting up a help comm like help_haiti and help_japan for the South (which, as you may or may not have heard, was devastated by tornadoes on Wednesday).

Anyone with any kind of experience doing something like this or who just plain wants to help, please, let me know.

Man, let me tell you, I loved you guys before, but even just getting a taste of what this is like makes me appreciate the Con Committee SO MUCH MORE. There is SO MUCH to do and I don't even have to worry about things like hotels and panels and catering like you guys.

helpthesouth seems to be a fandom auction comm - fics and art and such? If so, I think another one is warranted - I'm not creative in that way, but was planning to offer lemons, cuttings, and such (http://savesnowssanity.livejournal.com/1287.html) like I did for snowcoma last year. I'm also ramping up my canning in anticipation of offering home-canned goods (it's strawberry season here, so strawberry jam is on the to-do list this week).

So anyway, clex_monkie89, if this gets set up I'm in for offering goods, but as the semester is winding down I can't help with organization - my students are already teetering on the edge of a riot with how far behind I am on grading ;)
