The sun is already rising by the time they stumble their way into the house. It's the end of their first day back and they ran four and a half hours later than they were supposed to. Everyone seemed a half a beat off and all the equipment temperamental and unforgiving, apparently distrustful after being abandoned for so long.
Jensen wants nothing more than to crawl into bed and sleep the full nine and a half hours they have until they have to be on set again but the whining puppies nosing at his and Jared's knees have other plans. Troy is passed out on the couch like the good puppy-sitter he is, half-eaten pizza on the coffee table in front of him and chew toys scattered around the floor like land mines.
Jared drops to all fours, yowling low at Sadie and Harley and nosing at the scruffs of their necks, mock biting at them as they slobber happy kisses all over his face. Normally Jensen would be right down there next to them but Dean had a decent throw scene tonight and Jensen... Tripped over the fall pad and landed hard enough that his ribs are still sore.
Jared gets the kids organized and takes them outside while Jensen heads into the kitchen to try and refill their food and water bowls without actually bending over. By the time he's done the food is overflowing almost enough to hide the bowl and there's more water splashed onto the floor than in the dish but he can't find it in himself to care.
Jensen gulps down the last of the milk in the fridge and makes his way to their bedroom. He doesn't bother brushing his teeth or taking a shower, just unties his shoes and strips down to his underwear. He crawls under the comforter and snuggles in, breathes deep and relaxes.
He's not sure how much longer it is before he wakes up. The sun is up and bright and Jared's asleep next to him, face mushed into his pillow and arm pressed against his under their pillows. Sadie's asleep between them, curled into a ball and fit perfectly into the gap between their bodies, Harley's in the V between Jensen's legs, head pillowed on his ass. Jensen slides a knee up between his chest and Sadie to make himself a little more comfortable. His fingers seek out Jared's under the pillow and link with them, gripping tight for a brief moment before relaxing again. Jared hums lightly in his sleep and Jensen responds with an answering rumble before giving another squeeze of his fingers and drifting back to sleep again, small smile tugging at his lips.
