I love my dead gay son!

Man. I forgot how very gay the "I'm a sidekick" scene in Sky High is. It's very much a Coming Out scene, and I don't think they even bothered trying to hide it.

Man, I love that movie.

This weekend has sucked for me. But it's all a little better because the puppy is asleep on the bed next to me using the back of my right knee as a pillow for his head.

Don't puppy snuggles just improve everything?

[identity profile] clex_monkie89.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
They really, really do.

[identity profile] dancinguniverse.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
haha. My roommate stole that movie from me last night to watch with her boyfriend, and we were just talking about how awesome it is. And yes, puppy love will fix anything.

It IS! It totally is! Ah, Sky High. Some quality entertainment, right there.

[identity profile] clex_monkie89.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Every time I watch this movie I end up spending the next hour or so hunting down Will/Warren. Disney was stupid not to take the option for a show.

Puppy love FTW!

[identity profile] clex_monkie89.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I love that they didn't even bother trying to mask it. The people who made that movie are geniuses.

Also? I just caught an ep of Drake & Josh and I feel ripped off. They were trying to prank their sister, Megan and the only thing even kinda slashy in that ep was one of the brothers trying to hide in a trash can with the other one.

Bad, Nickelodeon, bad.

[identity profile] lyra-wing.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Want an ep that is totally slashy in the we're-breaking-up-omg and then there are declarations of love long apologies?

[identity profile] lyra-wing.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
WAIT. Did you not see the beginning of that one? Josh's pink underwear? Drake singing the blues to Josh?

[identity profile] clex_monkie89.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
MOGYESPLEASE!

[identity profile] clex_monkie89.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course, and here I thought that missing the first three minutes wouldn't do any harm. What's this about pink underwear and serenades?

[identity profile] lyra-wing.livejournal.com 2007-03-05 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
Hee, here, the link is still active. A friend of mine uploaded it for me.

Tell me what you think! I personally love dripping wet Drake. Mmm.

I need a Drake and Josh icon, hmmm!

[identity profile] lyra-wing.livejournal.com 2007-03-05 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, in the beginning of every ep, before the opening credits, there's a little bit where Josh and Drake are talking directly to the audience, explaining what's going on. Josh and Drake are both complaining about how Megan keeps pranking them, and Josh is talking about how she turned his underwear all pink. He holds up his pink briefs and he says, "Pink panties. It's just WRONG."

And then, right after that bit (but still before the opening credits), they cut to them being in their room. Josh is trying to do his homework, and Drake wants to listen to his music. But Josh tells him to quit it, so Drake picks up his guitar instead. He starts playing that old blues riff (you know which one I mean? dundun-da-DUN) and singing, "Josh is so cranky" etc. etc. It's the cutest thing ever. And Josh gives him a bitchface, ahaha, and Drake pouts and makes his guitar do a funny note. Heh.

Thank you so much babe! I'm downloading it right now and I'll tell you as soon as I'm done watching it!

[identity profile] clex_monkie89.livejournal.com 2007-03-05 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
Oh man, that sounds so awesome! Dammit, if only I'd've known just a fwe minutes earlier.

[identity profile] slytherinblack.livejournal.com 2007-03-05 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, I love that scene.

[identity profile] clex_monkie89.livejournal.com 2007-03-05 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
It very well just might be my favorite scene in the movie.

[identity profile] clex_monkie89.livejournal.com 2007-03-05 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
I really hate Yahoo!Beta and the way it keeps deleting anything I'm typing when it loads a new message in the background.

The overacting on the show still squicks me out (It's painful to watch because of it) but the love does a great job of trying to make up for it.

I loved Drake just falling apart at the seems, staying in bed all day and moping and even needing to be paid by his mom to get out of the house.

I'm going to hell for wanting to try and find fic now, aren't I?

[identity profile] lyra-wing.livejournal.com 2007-03-05 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
C'mon! Give them a break! It's a kid show, and kids love the overacting. It's over the top, but it makes me giggle. (They also do the sight-gags a lot, which are a hoot. They did an ep like the I Love Lucy ep about the chocolate factory. Except Drake and Josh were making sushi. :D)

Drippy wet Drake. Hee. I love Drake's little breakdown in the classroom, and I loved Josh's "no, sir" at the end. (See? They can do subtle, too. They just choose not to. ;))

Oh! And btw, I caught the alien ep earlier today too. Did you not see Drake shoving Josh's DVD down his pants and then whipping it out to give to Josh?!

"You put my copy of Alien Attack 2 down your pants?!"

"So?"

"It's warm."

[identity profile] clex_monkie89.livejournal.com 2007-03-05 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
Oh I know that the overacting is on purpose (Now, because they both did non-overacting pretty well in this ep), it's just that it looks embarrassing and I have a huge embarrassment squick.

Wet!Drake make me feel like a cradle-robber. Which is weird. But yes, man, I loved that whole scene right there. It was awesome and made out of love.

And I think I wasn't paying much attention to the "down the pants" thing because whenever Yussie wants something of Andy's he shoves it down his shorts (And then it immediately becomes his because no one else wants it anymore). Although the fact that Josh said nothing more than "It's warm." is worth noting.

*is floored*

I never even thought about that, and I've seen Sky High a bazillion times.

Huh.

[identity profile] clex_monkie89.livejournal.com 2007-03-05 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah, totally! I mean, just watch it again and replace "sidekick" with "gay" in your head. Everything from his Dad telling him he's "brave" for hanging out with the sidekicks, the way Will corrects "sidekicks" with "hero support" (Which mirrors the "gay/fag" with "homosexual"), the way Will tells his Dad it's okay to be a sidekick, the way his father reacts (Thumping the table and not exactly being pleased), etc.

It's a total euphemism. Will totally came out to his Dad right there after being caught with his other gay friends hanging out in the living room.

I see it now though.

Maybe you should get Dean to look at it. He's good with stuff like that.

Forced a friend to watch it, and she now uses the line "fuck me gently with a chainsaw". It's a great quote to pull out in public.

[identity profile] clex_monkie89.livejournal.com 2007-03-05 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
You know they actually came up with all their slang in the movie (Such as "fuck me gently with a chainsaw.") so as not to date the movie? They didn't think anyone would ever say stuff like that.

Um, weird, but this is the 2nd time tonight I've come upon a mention of Sky High-a movie I love and absolutely could not find anything for after I watched it a few months ago. I'm completely, and totally a Warren/Will shipper so if you know of any fic out there in the cosmos, direct me to it please.
